Training:-

           As a premier training institution of BSF and a declared "Centre of Excellence" by the Govt of India, CSWT specializes and conducts in service training programmes on skill-at-arms and associated subjects. Primarily CSWT is an institution which seeks to prepare instructors on different specialized subjects not only for the BSF but other state and Central Police Organizations with the aim that those who graduate from here will train the rank & file of their respective organizations. In the pursuit of this aim, highest standards of quality product is ensured.
          CSWT have the best of trainers on respective specialized subjects, excellent infrastructure for conduct of training, modern training aids, state-of-the art shooting ranges and galleries and above all conducive environment which is complemented by the available terrain and moderate weather.
          Innovativeness, flexibility, open minded attitude,

sensitivity & change, honouring positive feed back, close interaction with similarly placed institutions and out site world and pursuit of excellence are the pillars on which the edifice of this institution rests.

TRAINING COURSES BEING CONDUCTED AT CSWT 

1. Weapons & Tactics Course :- The course prepares  the trainees drawn from State and Central Police organizations as quality instructors capable of organizing and imparting training on weapons and minor tactics to the rank and file of respective organization and thus enhancing their skills and efficacy when operating against armed criminals, extremists, militants and terrorists.

II. IPS (Probationers) Course :-Young IPS officers are exposed, trained and exercised in the use of weapons and application of tactical drills/procedures that the police forces are expected to employ against armed criminals, extremists, militants and terrorist , thus enabling them in planning, organizing and supervising training  and operations in respective organizations.

III. Platoon Weapon Course :-   The course aims at imparting specialized training on platoon level weapons to BSF Officers and selected Subordinate and Under Officers enabling them to form a the pool of “Weapon trainers” who organize and conduct weapon training at different levels in BSF, and Thus contributing to the furtherance of skills-at-arms and marksmanship standards of the Force. 

 iv. Sniper Course :-  Selected marksmen are enabled  to enhance their skills in a manner that they , by discreet use of ground and weapon, are able to neutralize selected value targets at long distances without being observed or detected. They are simultaneously enabled to become trainers in the art of sniping.

v. New Weapons & surveillance Equipment (NWSE) Course :- A recently developed training programme aims at training Officers, Subordinate Officers and under Officers on modern weapons and equipment introduced in the BSF and to enable them to train the rank and file for correct employment and utilization of the same.

vi. Map Reading Instructors Course :-   It is endeavored to make the trainees master the science of map reading and thus enabling them in its application in so far as military use is concerned. The wider aim however, is to enable these trainees to perform as instructors of Map Reading at Units/ HQrs/ Trg establishments of BSF.

vii. Assistant Inspectorate of Arms (AIA) Course :- The course is designed to train officers of BSF, CPOs and Police to organize and supervise care, maintenance, repair of weapons and to carry out inspections towards ensuring serviceability of arms and special equipment held by respective organizations.

 viii. Armourer Course Level I :- To train Head Constables and Constables in the field of care and maintenance of arms and special eqpt at unit level, carry out inspections for ensuring their serviceability and to organize unit level repair workshops for rectification of defects of minor nature.

ix. Armourer Course Level II:-Trained armourers are refreshed in their trade and their skills are upgraded thus enabling them in carrying out repairs of difficult nature and fabrication of components of arms at arms workshops. 

x. Armourer Course Level III :- Senior and experienced armourers are exposed to the latest weapons and equipment to enable them in organizing their repair & maintenance at arms workshops. They are further enabled to supervise the functioning of arms workshop.  

xi.  Subsidiary Training Centre for Recruit Constables :- Newly recruited Constables in the BSF are put through basic foundation training in order to shape and develop them as Young Constables of the Force.

xii. Seminars / Workshops / Vertical Interactions / Trg Modules :- CSWT conducts seminars, workshops and vertical interactions for middle and senior level BSF officers as and when assigned. CSWT also organizes specialized training modues for various CPOs and Police Organizations as and when such demand is received from concerned organization.

xiii. Training of Senior BSF Officers:- CSWT has played a crucial role in getting Indian Institute of Management, Indore engaged as an agency for training of senior BSF Officers (IsG / DIsG / Comdts) on management and leadership aspects
